This special, two-hour workshop blends the restorative benefits of yin yoga – meditative, long-held postures that target the body’s connective tissues and calm the nervous system – with hands-on bodywork to stimulate deep release, restoration and recalibration.
The workshop will be facilitated by Lisa Gowers, a Massage Therapist with over 20 years experience in remedial and deep-tissue bodywork, alongside resident yoga teacher Jordan Brown. Together, they will guide students through shapes that work with the body’s meridian lines to support energy flow and balance, offering individualised bodywork and massage throughout to support a deep, layered release.
This is a chance to fully release tension, restore balance and attune to yourself in a calm and nurturing environment.

New to yoga? This 5-week beginner yoga course at Butter is the perfect place to start.Designed specifically for beginners, this small-group series will guide you through the foundations of yoga in a relaxed and supportive environment. You’ll build confidence on the mat while learning the key principles that make yoga feel safe, accessible and enjoyable.
This course is ideal if you:Are completely new to yoga or have only tried a class once or twice
Have already practiced yoga, but want to better understand the foundations of the practice’s movement, alignment and breath
Feel curious about yoga but aren’t sure where to begin
Prefer a slower pace with clear guidance and time to ask questions
Would feel more comfortable learning in a small, welcoming group
Over five sessions, you’ll learn foundational postures, simple sequences, breathing techniques and ways to adapt poses to suit your body. By the end of the course, you’ll feel comfortable stepping into regular classes and continuing your yoga practice with confidence.
